Liesel Ohle’s woodworking is a way for her to express
her personal philosophy. The truly unique and „natural“
properties of the material go hand in hand with the creation process
with which she creates her dolls. There is little done in her work
to correct or remodel, so that the lively and natural facial expressions
take form with the first work with the wood and is final. Therefore,
Liesel Ohle’s moment of inspiration and vision flows into
each doll. The result is a doll face that searches its twin in its
realness and naturalness. For Liesel Ohle, it is only natural that
all additional materials that she uses to finish the dolls are pure
nature: except the head - which is carved out of linden wood- where
she uses bee’s wax, grape seed oil, organically grown cotton
and sheep’s wool. |
